What is Yoga?

Yoga means “yoke”, or to join, to unite. The practice of Yoga creates a union of the mind, body & spirit. Through the practice of asanas (postures), pranayama (breath control) and  meditation, we transform ourselves by  strengthening  and energizing our bodies, release stress by calming our minds and deepen the awareness within ourselves and the outer world.

What to Bring & Wear
  • The studio is equiped with all the props you will require, mats, blocks, belts, blankets, however if you feel more comfortable bringing your own personal items, please feel free to do so.

  • Yoga is practised with bare feet for safety, if you need socks, look for special socks with grips on the bottom

  • Wear loose comfortable clothing, some poses require forward bends and inversions.

  • No jewelry if possible

  • You will learn to listen to your body, what it needs, and to proceed at your own pace.

  • Do mention any physical conditions or illnesses to the instructor before class begins. Some poses bring comfort to certain conditions and other poses need to be avoided. . When in doubt please ask.

  • There is no competition involved and your neighbours will always be different from you because they are as unique as you are. Do not compete with yourself either, each week is unique as to what is happening to you during that week.
